This viola is labeled Umberto Lanaro, Padova 1966 and its body length measures 16 ½”. 

Umberto Lanaro was born in 1930. Lanaro studied violin making with his brother, luthier Luigi Lanaro, with whom he worked from 1945 to 1953, and created his own models. Lanaro was awarded a gold medal at Bagnacavallo in 1976. This viola is available for trial via shipment or viewing in our showroom.
