Born in 1870, Charles Collin-Mézin fils was trained by his father, Charles Jean-Bapiste Collin-Mézin père, and worked in Paris, Mirecourt, and the United States throughout his career. A pupil of Gustave Bazin, Amédée Dieudonné established his shop in Mirecourt in the 1920s after working in Brussels for the Darché firm. His replicas of Italian instruments were particularly celebrated, and he crafted instruments for firms such as Moenning, Wurlitzer, Millant, and others.
