This viola was made by Ernst Heinrich Roth in Markneukirchen in 1926 and is modeled after the 1714 Stradivarius (IR).

Wilfried Leonhardt was born in Markneukirchen in 1933. Leonhardt took over his violinmaking teacher’s and father-in-law’s, Anton Dietl, family business in 1968 where they now specialize in cellos. This cello is available for trial via shipment or viewing in our showroom.

Wilhelm Kapfhammer studied at the Mittenwald school of violin making, then moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in the 1970s where he taught at the Violin Making School of America. This viola is available for trial via shipment or viewing in our showroom.
Simon Eberl studied at the Mittenwald school of violin making. In 2016, he joined with Julia Jostes and they established a workshop in Lübeck, Germany. Eberl’s work with Jostes won a silver medal for their instrument quartet at the Violin Society of America competition in 2018.
