His workshop is located in Cremona, Italy.
Award-winning maker Michele Dobner was trained in violin making in Milan under Luca Primon, and now lives and works in Cremona. Throughout his life he has studied great Italian instruments, and is particularly fond of creating quartets of instruments, looking for harmony in color and wood to create what he calls a “unicorn” sound. This violin, built in 2017, is resonant, sweet, and manages to sound both warm and bright. Available for trial in our showroom or via shipping.
After teaching himself to build instruments, Gaetano Sgarabotto moved to Milan to work with famed makers Riccardo Antoniazzi and Leandro Bisiach. He made many instruments for Bisiach throughout his life, and his journey took him through Vincenza, Brescia and Parma, collecting various influences along the way. Most of his models were based on Cremona patterns. We are honored to represent this gorgeous example of the great maker’s work with a certificate from Eric Blot and Hugues Paumier. Available for trial by appointment.
