Georges Mougenot was born in Mirecourt in 1843. His training involved an apprenticeship with Deroux and he worked for Hilaire Darche. In 1875, he took over the shop of Nicolas Vuillaume in Brussels. Georges Mougenot is known for scrupulous wood selection, and won gold medals in Paris (1878), Amsterdam (1883) and Antwerp (1885 and 1894).
This violin is a beautiful example of his work from 1880, and includes a certificate from Paumier. Available for shipping or trial in our showroom.
