Nicolas Gilles is a violin maker in Villeneuvette, France. He has won numerous awards for his instruments at the Violin Society of America competition and other competitions. His workshop is located in Villeneuvette, an ancient Royal workshop village of the 17th century. His greatest inspiration comes from the Italian makers of the 18th century (from Cremona, Venezia and Breccia) who perfected the sound and aesthetic beauty of the violin family. The study of these masterpieces led him to search for only the finest materials. Nicolas’s instruments are performed on throughout Europe and the United States by concert artists and teachers.
