Bow Repair Specialist
This position is ideal for a candidate with significant experience in and a passion for bow repair and restoration. Our workshop intakes repair requests for a wide array of needs – everything from rentals to fine antique French bows. Potter Violins is located in Takoma Park, MD. We are a large shop that prides ourselves on excellent customer service and education. Our workshop is a special place to be. We work in a mansion surrounded by musicians and instruments of all levels with endless amazing things to learn. We look forward to welcoming you to our team!
Compensation commensurate with experience. Hourly rate begins at $28/hr.

Sales Associate
Potter Violins, a violin shop dedicated to providing exceptional instruments, accessories, and services to musicians of all levels, is seeking a talented and passionate individual to join our team in Takoma Park, Maryland as a Sales Associate specializing in Cello sales. Title: Sales Associate
Compensation: $28 – $35/hour to start plus optional benefits and performance bonus.
Commitment: 25 – 38 hours, Tuesday – Saturday
Responsibilities:
- Sales Associates are expected to share their expertise and provide guidance to clients in their search for a new cello. This means being able to demonstrate differences between instruments and bows on a variety of levels and help educate clients regarding instrument maintenance & care with an eye on building long-term relationships.
- Actively identify and pursue sales opportunities by engaging with potential customers in-store and through strategic follow-up
- Participate in events and networking opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and increase brand awareness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in music or equivalent experience required.
- Personal knowledge of orchestral string instruments, particularly violins, violas, and cellos.
- Advanced cello playing skills required to effectively demonstrate instruments and assist customers; familiarity with violin and viola is a plus.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic retail environment, you should be comfortable using computer software, point-of-sale systems, and CRM tools to track sales and customer interactions.
