Description
Alexander Accessories Violin chinrests and tailpieces and Viola chinrests and tailpieces are the choice of many of the world’s leading players. We have been making our high quality accessories by hand for over 25 years in rural Leicestershire, England. Using only the highest quality seasoned, fine grained hardwoods that are available; all of our boxwood accessories are stained and finished using the traditional methods.
In 1831 Louis Spohr is said to have made the first chinrest – he attached it to the bottom button of his violin. We have made a modern interpretation, based on the drawings he did in his violin playing manual, and have attached our modern fittings. It has caused a lot of interest and has been ordered by a number of Baroque players.
