This violin was made by Ada Quaranta and is modeled after the “Lord Wilton” Guarneri ‘del Gesu’ 1742.
After completing her training in Cremona, Ada specialized in high-level restoration with J. F. Schmitt in Lyon, Geigenbau Machold in Bremen, and subsequently with Roger G. Hargrave. In 2002, she opened her atelier in Italy and dedicated herself to the art of crafting modern and baroque instruments of the highest aesthetic and acoustic quality, which are now recognized and played by many leading musicians around the world. Ada’s instruments are the result of a union between the traditional methods of the finest Classical Italian violin makers—particularly those of Cremona and Brescia—and the most recent developments in acoustics, historical research, and new technologies. Ada’s instruments are regularly exhibited in major international cities including New York, London, Berlin, Paris, Brussels, and Cremona.
